No, Azukari Koi handles all the logistics from start to finish. We keep you updated every step of the way.
You can buy through the mailing list. You can send us requests of koi that you might be looking for, or you can visit us in Japan and select your koi for yourself.
Azukari Koi are the agents in the UK for Ornafish Japan. You can buy directly through www.ornafish.com and anything you select will be automatically added to our next shipment.
All shipments come into Heathrow Airport, they are inspected by CEFAS and then released once they are satisfied with the health of the koi and all the paperwork is correct.
We currently have 2 delivery rounds. We deliver one route finishing at South Yorkshire with various stops en route driving up the M1 or the A1 depending who’s ordered. We have a second route driving up the M40/M42/M6 finishing around Stoke, again with various drop off points en route.
We can’t promise this for every shipment, it all depends on driver availability and which dealers have koi arriving.

However, If you provide a generic email address (gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail etc) then this will prompt further investigation.
Other forms of proof, although not always guaranteed, are a copy of your Pet Shop License, VAT Registration, Companies House Incorporation Certificate, Trade References, photographs of your shop and facilities, especially signage and till etc etc.

We all have to start somewhere, and starting from home can be a great way to keep your costs down in the beginning.
Over the years we’ve seen some great businesses start from home and go on to flourish into leading koi dealers. Likewise, we’ve seen even more fall flat on their faces thinking working from home means they can sell koi for cheap and gain the market share. Wrong.
Simple answer, for what it’s worth. The skill however, is knowing what a koi is worth. Only experience will tell you this and this is just one of the skills that set good koi dealers apart.
